A local man managed to cause two accidents while trying to merge across two lanes of traffic to get to the Belgrade interchange. While in the process of merging, the man cut off another car and caused it to run into the median, causing it to roll on its top into oncoming traffic and blocking both lanes. Momentarily after that accident, a semi truck coming up on the accident toppled and lost his load of sawdust and woodchips. The two women in the car that rolled were taken to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital with minor injuries. The man who caused the accidents was not injured; however he was cited for causing the accidents.
