Zometa® Can Cause Decay of the Jawbone and Atrial Fibrillation

Dangers of Zometa - Personal Injury AttorneyA Missoula jury has awarded $3.2 million to a Montana woman, in a case won against Swiss drug maker Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp, manufacturers of a bone-strengthening cancer drug known as Zometa. Peggy L. Stevens, 57, sued the pharmaceutical giant after she started developing serious dental and jaw related problems known as Osteonecrosis of the jaw.

The attorneys for Novartis argued that Stevens was aware of the side effects. However, this case was a huge victory for attorneys in Montana, with the jury ultimately voting 10-2 on October 20 and awarding $3.2 million. Stevens receives $822,000 in lost income and the remaining amount compensated by a jaw alteration,  emotional pain and suffering. Stevens, who was suffering from lymphoma, started developing a degenerative jaw disorder after consuming the drug.

Solomon NeuhardtIf you get in a car accident and contact Billings attorney Solomon Neuhardt about filing a lawsuit, he might tell you to find another attorney.

"Sometimes the best advice you can get when you're thinking about a lawsuit is that you do not have a claim that can be won," Neuhardt says.  But, if he does take your case, "fewer cases means more time for you," he says.

The Neuhardt Law Firm is located at 2602 First Ave. S., Suite 319, in the downtown post office building. It can be reached at 294-9540.

Here's what else Neuhardt had to say about striking out on his own, and what it feels like to lay down in an empty office on your first day and wonder if you've done the right thing:

Stolen car found with FREE Lost Key Tags Program

The stolen car of a client of Neuhardt Law Firm was found with the Lost Keys Program available for free from Neuhardt Law. Our office received a call from the Rex restaurant in Billings on the morning of October 16, 2009 saying that they had found a set of car keys with a Neuhardt Law Firm Lost Keys tag on them. The Lost Keys Program is simply a tag that is on a set of car keys like an Albertson or Shopko discount tag that says to call our office if they keys are found and it offers a reward.

The keys were that of a client and the client's car had been stolen the night before. The client reported her car as being stolen to the Billings Police Department. We identified the keys and called the client to let her know we had her keys. About the same time she let us know that her car had been stolen. The car was found shortly thereafter and the client was thrilled that her keys and her car were found.

Each key tag under the Lost Keys Program has a registration number on it that identifies the owner of they keys. If you would like a free set of tags for your car keys call us at 406-294-9540 or email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

What Is Medical Malpractice?

Broadly speaking, drifting away intentionally or carelessly from the accepted standards of medical care by a healthcare provider that causes harm to a patient is called medical malpractice. Medical malpractice can be the lack of treatment or improper treatment, misdiagnosis, an intentional delay in treatment, failure to perform correct follow-ups and errors in prescription.
