Surprisingly, the answer is sometimes no. In this clip, Sol lists three questions to ask to determine whether or not the services of an attorney are needed. What was the nature of the damage? Was there a serious injury? Was someone other than you partly or wholly at fault?
Minor claims are handled every day without an attorney involved. Here’s a practicing injury attorney’s advice on who should seek legal services.

Finding and hiring an attorney to handle your personal injury case can seem like a difficult task. In this clip, Sol gives you some good questions to ask. These will help you make an informed decision and give you the confidence to proceed.
Good attorneys do not mind answering some key questions about their background and track record. They are proud of their accomplishments and understand that new clients might be a feel a little nervous. Asking the right questions is an important part of being an informed client. You should want someone with the expertise to get a full and fair resolution and you shouldn’t be afraid to interview before you hire.

When a dog injures someone several important questions need to be answered. For instance, did you know that in the city, cases are stronger than in the country? Or that there are valid reasons for a dog to bite that wouldn’t show negligence by the owner?
In this video, Sol discusses some of the circumstances that come up in dog bite cases. When a dog attacks, the damage is swift and severe. After initial treatment for the wounds, the victim still has to worry about infection, the possibility of rabies, and if there will be permanent scarring. Will a homeowner’s policy pay for the injury? Why are dog bite cases more difficult with a jury trial? Sol answers these questions and others.

An accident involving a big rig is quite different than one where only private vehicles crash. The reasons stem from the federal regulations that require documentation on routes, driver status and inspections of the commercial truck. In this clip, Sol discusses why immediate action to recover documents might be needed and how an attorney will proceed in a trucking accident case.
Other resources he mentions is the availability of an accident history for the company which owns the truck and a personal record for the driver involved. All of these considerations make a trucking accident more complex. However, where even partial negligence is an issue, these claims can be settled in the victim’s favor.

What is a deposition? Do I have to comply? How and why do insurance companies use depositions?
In this important discussion, Sol describes what a deposition is and why it is important. Because a deposition is taken under oath, any statements you make can be held against you in court. You are advised to have your attorney present and Sol accompanies his clients to depositions to protect them from making mistakes.
The purpose is to allow the insurance company’s attorney to get a formal statement from you regarding the facts of the case and, as Sol explains, he will object to any questions that are primarily meant to embarrass or harass you. He also covers how material in a deposition may be thrown out if it is not directly applicable to the case.
