Anderson Cooper 360 - CNN Allstate - Part 1

In this first of two parts, Anderson Cooper hosts a CNN expose on how insurance companies try to pressure accident victims into settling for much less than they are entitled to. By not paying reasonable amounts on claims, they force injured parties to retain a lawyer and pursue the matter in court.

The strategy, illustrated by Allstate’s actions, is becoming common in the industry and amounts to using the court system as a way to escape their obligations. Mr. Cooper tells how even with a personal injury attorney, victims may suffer character assassination attempts by insurance companies and use unfair tactics to influence jury awards.
