Car Accident Crash-Test Lexus IS

With one of the highest safety ratings in the industry, the Toyota Lexus is a good example of what can be accomplished in the field. This video documents, in slow motion, several different crash scenarios and how the car and occupants respond. The extreme sideways motion during side impacts and the deployment of driver and passenger side-impact air bags highlights the high standards in this vehicle.

Many vehicles are only tested either with front end collisions or with side impacts that are broadly spread out. The footage here shows how the car responds to a point impact, as when a vehicle strikes a pole or a tree.
